With its 35th birthday just around the corner, DEKAT Magazine continues to evolve.
Already a household name in magazine print and on television, this iconic brand has taken the next step to becoming a fully fledged luxury coffee table book.
“As a lifelong creative conceptualiser with a deep appreciation for good design, quality printing and engaging content, I am very excited about this development,” says Elzilda Becker, owner and publisher of DEKAT.
Becker believes this year’s 320-page curated selection of quality journalism combined with cutting-edge content will become a collectable publication. Consisting of 10 sections, each with an art stock cover focusing on topics like Art, Design, Style, Food & Wine, Motoring, Culture, Photography and Business, the book will offer a bird’s-eye view of a slice of life in 2019.
The book will be published in two editions: the Luxury Edition, and the signed and numbered Collector’s Edition.
“This coveted version combines everything we love about publishing – tactile treatments such as embossing, gold foiling, spot varnish and thread sewn sections on special art stock will make it a sought-after Christmas gift,” says Becker.
The Luxury Edition will be limited to 2 500 copies on sale at select bookstores. The Collector’s Edition will be boxed, signed and numbered, and couriered to the collectors.
“This is such a natural progression for us,” Becker adds. “DEKAT has been recognised as a coffee table magazine for years and we are now making that accurate in every sense of the word.”
