Apart from being a music prodigy, the endlessly creative Chris Chameleon is also a green activist, ambassador for Leadership for Conservation in Africa and cattle farmer.
Once again, he’ll be DEKATv’s anchor when it kicks off on kykNET at 18:00 on 28 July. Melanie Tait posed a few questions…
What does Leadership for Conservation in Africa involve?
Leadership for Conservation in Africa (LCA) is an organisation that ensures areas in Africa for conservation, in cooperation with government and local populations. The challenge is to make it worthwhile for people to see the sense of conservation by stimulating industries around the parks.
How do you get from point A to point B?
Sometimes I fly with commercial airlines, sometimes in private planes, sometimes by train, seldom by boat or bicycle, mostly in (hybrid) cars and preferably on foot!
Where is point C?
Point C I always take with me. It stands for Chris and that’s the guy I know best and in whom I trust to know who he is in among changing situations.
How is the cattle farming doing?
Everything of the ’beast’!
Liquorice or a snowflake chocolate?
What bugs you?
People who putter along in the fast lane.
What do you hope to find at the end of the rainbow?
My way back.
What colour is the world going to be in 2030?
With the rise of China, I guess red. But I’m hoping for green.
What colour would the world be without music?
A bright shade of transparent.
Your favourite black object?
My hiking boots.
And your favourite white object?
The nicest smell on earth…
1) the first three seconds of a freshly lit cigarette (I don’t smoke myself) 2) freshly baked bread (I’m allergic to wheat)
3) cattle manure (I promise!)
4) fresh coffee in the morning
5) my beloved
