It all began 60 years ago in 1956, when the German biochemist, Dr Michael Babor, recognised the uniqueness of the black rose as a symbol of infinite beauty.

Dirk and Lynn-Ann Fuchsloch have been the proud owners of BABOR South Africa for the past 28 years. As a young couple they made a joint business decision to purchase BABOR South Africa and have worked closely together to make it the success that it is today. Lynn-Ann’s passion for people and the industry has kept her successful in the sales department, while Dirk’s financial strength has kept the business prosperous and growing.
“The precision formulas that have been mastered in each and every product throughout the BABOR range are based on the most innovative active ingredients consisting of 850 high-grade raw-materials all of which are sourced from renewable resources,” explains Thanita Russouw, Gauteng sales representative of Babor SA.
BABOR skin health and beauty products are manufactured according to international cosmetic standards and packaged at a state-of-the-art production facility in Aachen, Germany.
To celebrate Babor’s 60th birthday, Gauteng beautician and long-time Babor supporter, Sally Meyer, recently hosted a cocktail party at her Struben’s Valley salon.

After completing her diploma at Wits Technikon, she continued her studies abroad, completing an Itec diploma in London under the renowned medical, beauty and health specialist Arnold Taylor. This also led to her completing diplomas in Cidesco and IA, as well as an Itec Hons and an Itex Teachers’ Diploma.
At the age of 23 she became an Itec lecturer and ran both the school and her salon, Sally’s Beauty Institute, which she started in 1982, at the age of 20, and which is still going strong.
Her experience through the years has always led her back to the two brands which she believes have truly supported her success with her clients, namely Babor and Thalgo. She also excels in permanent make-up application and anti-ageing –and continues to do so in the last 30 years.– and continues to do so.
