Strauss & Co is pleased to announce the launch of the new, easy-to-use website ahead of the latest, smaller, curated Fine and Decorative Arts online auction on 21 September.
According to the Hiscox Online Art Trade Report for 2015, the value of the global online art market increased from $1.57 billion in 2013 to an estimated $2.64 billion in 2014. As the first major auction house in South Africa to embrace the potential of online auctions, Strauss & Co continues to keep buyers in step with international trends with the launch of our revamped website this month.
The new site has been developed using familiar elements from social media platforms to allow users to make it easier to search for items. You can “like” items and the site will even suggest works you may be interested on based on your previous browsing history. It’s also mobile friendly allowing you to browse up to 36 items per page and bid at your convenience from wherever you may be.
The pre-defined search function will notify you in advance when something you might be interested in comes up for auction and the favourites page will let you select the works you’re interested in and keep you updated with information about them.
Strauss Online’s fast, easy to use, simple design means that you can look at items at your convenience, keep track of auction activity and update your personal profile so that you’re easily able to renew your catalogue subscriptions and be informed about all upcoming sales.
